CARSON CITY PARK FOUNDATION

The Foundation for the Betterment of Carson City Parks and Recreation, Inc. (The Park Foundation)is a non-profit corporation formed in 1985 by a group of citizens concerned for the future of Carson City.

The goal of the Foundation is to bring together members of the community to encourage strong support for the enhancement of Parks and Recreation facilities. This Foundation strives to enhance the quality of life and education of the general public in the use and preservation of the valuable natural resources of Carson City.

The Park Foundation maintains a tax exempt, non-profit organization independent from government, yet working with local governments, community groups and other organizations with similar goals.

To this end the Park Foundation solicits, receives, administers and disburses monies, gifts, legacies, devices and conveyances of real and personal property for the betterment of Carson City Parks and Recreation.

Major contributions made by the Foundation working with the Parks and Recreation Department are the newly restored Wungnema House and a beautiful monument with a memorial wall near the train depot in Mills Park.

The Foundation would like to welcome new members. For information about membership, donations or projects, please call Fred Stanio at 882-7403.
